ERP in the world of Mobile and BI

By

ERP has been proven to be a vital tool in the race of supremacy for organizations as it unites all the functional facets of an enterprise with minimal errors. It is a well known fact that Implementation of ERP is a rigorous process that takes months to complete; with its implementation sometimes proving to be more costly than the capital associated with amalgamating the software and hardware together. Implementation specialists need to be equipped with skilled manpower coupled with the right resources to complete implementation projects on-time, on-budget along with efficient RoI.

For years, organizations have been engaged with the SaaS versus on-premise debate. As the dust of the debate begins to settle, it appears that we may have been arguing at a no brainer. ERP vendors are increasingly more likely to offer both SaaS and on-premise solutions to customers, and, in many cases, organizations are adopting both. The real lesser known area is with hybrid solutions that host on-premise solutions in the cloud, which is a solution more clients are starting to adapt as a way to get the best of both worlds.

Another aspect that has caught our eye is with the growing adoption of mobile and BI technologies. As some companies strive to get the best out of existing ERP initiatives, enterprises will invest in mobile solutions and business intelligence software to get more out of their existing ERP systems. Organizations have recognized that newer ERP systems will not necessarily help them make better use or sense of business information without the tools to better support decision-making among employees and key decision-makers. In addition, executive teams will be under growing pressure to increase revenue, which will put more pressure on their employees to provide decision-making tools and dashboards designed to support executives’ need for information.

It is also evident to organizations that ERP software will no longer be limited to ERP. Rather than simply considering the traditional ERP vendors, organizations can look to standalone CRM, financial and inventory management systems and still have options to extend those solutions into more traditional ERP territory. These type of companies, who push the boundaries of innovation and blur the lines between ERP, CRM and inventory management systems is what we have tried to cover in this month’s 20 most promising ERP solution providers. We are sure you will agree to the same.
