mentalwellnessAs Mental Health Day approaches (a few hours left), we should give a thought to how mental health affects a person’s life every day. Only a simple thing in a day’s start, which is annoying to a person, can make the day worse for the person. Some people who are mentally fit, know how to stay calm. But this is just a basic example. Far worse cases of mental health have shown us people committing suicide and crime. The reason being we as a society still consider mental illness a taboo.

A very similar response is received when asked about treating mental illness, which is ‘What will people think?’.’

The World Health Organization (WHO) says that the bygone urgency for mental health and psychological support will expectedly create quite an increase in the treatment of mental health in the following months/years. The importance of investment for mental wellness programmes is important, both at the national and international levels. It did not receive most funding previously, and should be invested upon.

WHO also claimed that for this sole purpose, 2020’s World Mental Health Day campaign envisions increased investment in mental health.
