Virtualization as a Next Big thing for Today's World of Business

According to Mordor Intelligence, the global virtualization software market is expected to register a CAGR of 8.78% during the forecast period (2020 - 2025). With the advancements in this software, many companies are coming forth to bring further expansion this segment. One of the most important benefits that virtualization can empower the businesses is to better recover during man-made or natural-calamities – facilitating simplistic recovery and failover. It not only enhances availability/disaster recovery for some of the critical business applications or data, but delivers over all visibility over every application and data involved to one’s business. As India has a price-sensitive market, cost saving through virtualization will be a significant factor for its growth. Adoption of virtualization technology will significantly aid businesses in minimizing IT expenses while enhancing their equipment’s efficiency.

Furthermore, as the enterprise resources are increasing in volume and becoming decentralized in volume, virtualization of storages has become quite mandatory, according to Mordor Intelligence report. Some of the storage virtualization products such as Hitachi Data Systems Corp.'s USP V, and IBM's SAN Volume Controller (SVC), promises to virtualize various brands and types of storage systems. The report also states that the Asia-Pacific will be witnessing the highest growth in the global market due to the rapidly increasing SMEs in the market. As the market is dominated and majorly concentrated across players like Microsoft, Oracle, and VMware, if we talk about its implementation across many large enterprises, there will be many solutions come into the picture revolving across these aforementioned companies.

However, with all its benefits, businesses also have to be aware about the implementation challenges when it comes to maintaining licenses in a virtual environment, which also tends to increase expenses as solution providers in the current market tend to elevate licenses fees.   Virtualization holds a promising future with every business at some point time will need to adopt this technology to stay relevant with today’s ever-changing market dynamics. The collaboration of software and hardware through virtualization will further bring new innovations to set the world towards a completely digital future.
