The fifth gen or 5G technology potential of India is higher than the most-advanced countries in the world, where the US-based Cisco Systems would continue to partner with telecom carriers for bringing affordable data services to everyone, as said by the company’s executive.

Miyuki Suzuki, Asia President, Cisco, said, “The value of 5G in India, in many ways, is higher than in advanced countries as it enables India to jump straight to smart infrastructure, and that comes at a lower cost but with faster delivery."

For unleashing the power of 5G and scale, Suzuki believes in importance of partnerships.

An executive said, "We will continue to explore partnerships with service providers in India to help bring the benefits of the internet to everyone.”

For delivering the ‘most affordable data services, and accelerating India’s broadband index, the United Sates multinational is aggressively working with India’s top telecom operators, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel for creating next-gen networks.

Owned by billionaire Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Jio, in partnership with Cisco, is developing a first-of-its-kind 5G ready network for transforming the digital service space and creating an ecosystem of network, devices and applications and content, which will be cost effective.

Suzuki is propelling India for reaching the top spot in mobile broadband consumption by automating the world’s first and the largest exchange for exchanging all-IP network in the world, from cell site to data center, delivering the most affordable services to the Indians.

Reliance Jio has also partnered with Sunil Mittal-driven Bharti Airtel for launching the largest 5G-ready in India, with 200G IP, and optical-integrated network designed to enhance network availability, capacity, and scale.

Jio and Airtel, being rivals are accelerating their network readiness effort for commercially launching 5G services, which is followed by the airwaves auction in the 3300 MHz – 3600 MHz spectrum band. They said the bands were unreasonably priced and sought more frequencies for low-latency data networks.

Being head of the company since 2015, Chuck Robbins visited India frequently and said that pace and scale of digitalization in the country remained unparalleled and will continue to drive the country’s digital efforts in the private and public domains.

According to Suzuki, Cisco is enabling India to accelerate digitalization as the company is continuing the business enablement for their digital roadmap and has already earmarked $5 billion fund for the telecom service providers for accelerating 5G deployments worldwide with Indian telcos, which are taking a major fund chunk in the region.

The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi headed Indian Government aims for enhancing its economic activities and according to a finding, the country’s gross domestic product is likely to increase by up to 0.5 percent.

Headquartered in San Jose, the company believes that 5G would continue to become a core growth anchor for its business in India until 2025 and could become one of the top geographies for driving revenue worldwide.

A top executive said, “We believe that in the emerging or no-touch economy, infrastructure modernisation, workplace transformation, small businesses, and 5G will be the key growth drivers for Cisco in India over the next three to five years. We see great opportunities in India, which is on track to become one of Cisco's top markets globally.”

India has provided a robust growth for the multinational in the last five years and is continuing to grow faster in the market. It aims to tap enterprise verticals like manufacturing, retail and small business.
