Top Trends for Enterprise Mobility in 2015
The trend in the enterprise world to a “bring-your-own-device” environment has reached a tipping point. It is safe to assume that there will be far more BYOD or COPE mobile devices. These will be the top trends in enterprise mobility for 2015.
Analytics tools observe the mobile human resources : Another 2015 trend to watch is the growth of analytics running on the backend of cloud partnership and sales enablement raised area giving companies actionable insights into the content their mobile workforce is accessing. Improvements in analytics tools across Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), CRM, and other backend platforms should also gaze after into this trend all through 2015. Many users are pushing IT to deploy a pervasive wireless infrastructure that serves both business and personal devices, while expecting wireless LANs (WLAN) to provide fast, conventional behavior, just like a wired LAN. As enterprises increasingly rely on WLANs for mission-critical communication, challenges of network design, network management and problem diagnosis become more complex.
BYOD and CYOD combinations becomes clear : Choose Your Own Device (CYOD) sometimes known as Corporate Owned Personally Enabled (COPE) as a trend in 2015 as some enterprises drag from the BYOD. Enterprises must also deal with only one of its kind demands that BYOD strategies place on site communications infrastructures. They may need to increase network capacity, manage bandwidth, segregate BYOD devices from enterprise devices, add IP voice services and expand site mobile access.
The overpromises and BYOD spin from some vendors (as evidenced by my email inbox these past two years) points to a future where the bills come due (and reality sets in) when mobile workforce meets the budget.
Cloud-based mobile expansion will become main stream in the enterprise : It is clear that the cloud is disrupting the way most software is deployed and consumed. Benefits such as elasticity, agility and operational cost savings make the cloud model too compelling to stick with the traditional software model. Consumer applications such as e-mail are now cloud-based. That will change in 2015, starting with mobile development. Modern browsers are fast enough to compete with the performance usually associated with native OS software. In addition, with HTML5 now more mature, browser-based IDEs deliver a native-like user experience that is consistent across browsers while offering all the advantages of the cloud software model. With cloud-based development tools and platforms, developers can develop from anywhere without having to install and maintain infrastructure. In addition, the cloud model enables real-time.
Mobile app maturity : User Experience (UX) has become the dominant measure of success for virtually every mobility project. Although most developers absolutely understand they must deliver a great UX for business-to-consumer (B2C) apps, the same is not true for business-to-employee (B2E). Often, employees must struggle with outmoded, poorly planned apps they would never use if they had a choice. As enterprises ever more rely on WLANs for mission-critical communication, challenges of network design, network management and problem diagnosis become more multifarious.
