Tech Service Firm NTT Launches New Data Centre In Mumbai

datacentreThe Global Data Centers division of NTT Ltd. Today launched a new high-density and hyperscale data center in Mumbai. The data center will be operating in a 375,000 sq.ft colocation space and will be offering the capacity for hosting 5,000 racks and over 30MW of load, as per NTT. It is ‘Mumbai 7 Data Centre’, and will be granting facility to expand NTT’s data center capacity in India by 30 percent.

Masaaki Moribayashi, Senior Executive Vice President, Services of NTT Ltd., said, “India has been a key market for NTT Ltd's data center portfolio. Organizations today demand an ever-expanding global platform to reach their growing digital business objectives. That's why we continue to expand our portfolio of state-of-the-art data centers in new and existing markets that complement our global geographic footprint and support our clients as their demand increases for reliable, robust cloud services, cloud communications, digital entertainment, and new technologies such as artificial intelligence.”

By adding the Mumbai 7 Data Centre, NTT Ltd Global Data Centers and Cloud Infrastructure division in India will operate with 10 data centers in the four major cities in a 1.5 million sq.ft. and implement 15MW of power.

NTT plans of doubling the data capacity in the following two-three years for strengthening its hybrid ICT solutions and supporting the digital transformation of the Indian customers. NTT also has plans for investing almost $2 billion for expanding data centers, networks, and solar power projects in India.
