Riverbed reveals major gap between Digital Aspirations and Digital Performances

digitalThe Riverbed Digital Performance Global Survey 2018 conducted by Riverbed, the Digital performance company, shows that about 99 percent of the surveyed business decision makers think that optimizing digital performance is crucial for business performances, and 98 percent agree that digital services and applications are vital to the future of their business. It also shows that 97 percent of the surveyed believe that the major barriers like budget constraints, legacy networks and lack of visibility are limiting delivery performances and customer experiences required in the digital world.

The survey was conducted globally among the 1000 business decision makers of several companies across the nine countries. The companies have annual revenue of $500 million or more. It is found that about 66 percent of the surveyed think that critical digital services and applications are failing the customer expectations, diminishing productivity and affecting the customer experiences, at least few times a month.

Bjorn Engelhardt, SVP at Riverbed Technology, said in the media release, “This survey underscores the tremendous opportunity that maximizing digital performance can have on the user experience and bottom line, while simultaneously highlighting the real challenges companies face today”.

“Companies thinking ahead of time in India are well-positioned to lead their industries in the race towards digital transformation by prioritizing investments in modernizing their networks and tools to measure and manage the digital experience for their customers and employees. Those who hesitate to adopt digital strategies and the process will collapse and those who drive digital performances will witness significant business outcomes,” he added. 

At present, it is important for companies to provide successful digital services to the customers, partners, and employees, to increase their revenues, customer experience and satisfaction. All Indian BDMs surveyed agreed that their companies will be benefitted with improving performances of the digital services and applications. In fact, 97 percent of the Indian business decision makers have agreed on facing the challenges in achieving a more successful digital strategy. The challenges include budget constraints, lack of full visibility across the digital or end-user experience and lack of skilled personnel.

Smart business leaders are likely to make more investment in the management tools and infrastructure underlying digital services. It is found that 92 percent believe that a modern IT infrastructure delivers greater agility which is important to improve digital performance.
