Shri Rajnath Singh, the Defense Minister of the Indian Government, launched the Directorate General National Cadet Corps (DGNCC) Mobile Training Application today. This purpose of this application is to conduct nationwide online training for the NCC Cadets.

Due to the restrictions of COVID-19, NCC Cadets training, which is mostly contact-based training, got affected adversely. Also, it is visible that schools and colleges are not going to open soon, a requirement for training the NCC Cadets through digital medium was vehemently felt. The Defense minister interacted with the NCC Cadets in a video conference during the launch of the application. He answered all the questions and wished the candidates reach successful future, motivated them to perform in every life sphere.

While addressing the NCC Cadets, Defense Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh, said, “The app will be useful to the participants in digital learning and overcoming the difficulties posed by COVID-19 due to restrictions on direct physical interactions. But if one moves ahead with determination and self-confidence, he or she would be able to clear all hurdles and achieve success.”

Shri Rajnath Singh showed his appreciation to the contribution of more than one lakh NCC Cadets that supported the frontline Corona warriors by duly executing tasks for fighting the deadly virus threats. the Defense minister himself being a former NCC Cadet, said, “NCC imparts values of unity, discipline, service to the nation and several NCC Cadets rose to become great personalities such as Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Air Marshal Arjan Singh, sports personality Anjali Bhagwat, former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.”

The DGNCC Mobile Training Application aims to provide NCC Cadets with the entire training material, which includes syllabus, précis, training videos, and FAQs under one platform. The app is interactive as it has a query option, using which a cadet can ask questions related to the training syllabus, and will receive an answer from a panel of qualified instructors.

This application holds the possibility of a positive step in making NCC training automated, which aligns with the Digital India Vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. It will traverse a long path in assisting the NCC Cadets, giving them easier access to training material in these testing times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Defense Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar, Director General NCC Lt General Rajeev Chopra and other senior civil and military officials from the Ministry were also present in the application inauguration.
