Raise Virtual Summit 2020: PM Modi To Address Conference On Impact & Inclusion Of AI

Raise Virtual Summit The Indian Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate a global virtual summit on Artificial Intelligence (AI) today. The summit, named ‘RAISE 2020’ will be inaugurated on Oct 5 at 7 PM. ‘RAISE 2020’ is a collaboration between the Ministry Of Electronics And Information Technology and NITI Aayog. A first of its kind, RAISE 2020 is a global meeting of minds on Artificial Intelligence for driving India’s vision and roadmap to construct the social transformation, inclusion and empowerment using responsible AI.

Shri Narendra Modi will be delivering the keynote address at the summit and the Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad, NITI Aayog’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amitabh Kant are also set to address at the summit. The speakers include Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd, Arvind Krishna, CEO of IBM and Prof. Rad Reddy, a Turning Awardee, Padma Bhushan awardee and former Co-chair of the US President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee.

The RAISE 2020 Summit Details:

· With the theme – ‘Responsible AI for Social Empowerment’, RAISE 2020 will include an exciting speaker’s list comprising of leaders, policy designers, innovators and other stakeholders for contributing to the discourse on the potential of artificial intelligence in the promotion of public good in the domains of health, education, mobility and agriculture.

· The summit will be taking place between October 5 and October 9 where industry leaders and frontrunners of AI will share their views on AI for social benefit and AI’s impact in empowering communities for creating a reliable infrastructure.

· 38,700+ stakeholders from academia, the research industry and government representatives from 125 countries have registered to take part in RAISE 2020 virtual summit.

· RAISE 2020 will augment idea exchange for creating mass awareness on ethical development and practice of AI.

· Selected startups will present their solutions in the AI Startup fest through AI Solution Challenge on October 6.

· Participants in the summit include Professor Daniela Rus, Director of Computer Science and AI lab at MIT, USA, Dr Milind Tambe, Director, AI for Social Good at Google Research India, Sandip Patel, MD, IBM India and South Asia, Dr Jonathan Stuart Russel, Computer Scientist, UC Berkeley, and Arunima Sarkar, Lead, AI, World Economic Forum.

· Prof. Rus will talk on 'Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence’ jointly with Umakant Soni, Co-founder, AI Foundry.

· Dr Rohini Srivathsa will talk on AI-ready workforce in association with Laura Longcore, VP, Worldwide Learning Field and Ms Kirti Seth, Lead, Future Skills, NASSCOM.

Dr Milind Tambe will talk on the importance of research for developing responsible AI, Sandip Patel will talk on challenges and opportunities of harnessing AI for growth in association with Ranjan Sharma, CIO, Supply Chain and E-Commerce, Bestseller India, Tarun Aggarwal, AVP, Maruti Suzuki India, Arvind Sivaramakrishnan, CIO, Apollo Hospitals, Lula Mohanty, GM, IBM Global Business Services, Anup Mahapatra, Deputy MD, State Bank of India, and Ms Shalini Warrier, ED, COO, and Business Head - Retail, Federal Bank.
