Bangalore: A thriving start-up in the wireless power industry, PowerSquare launched an Adaptive Position-Free (APF) system recently. The novel APF system is a patent-pending model that is engineered to address the challenge of providing charge to more than one device on a large surface.

Founded in 2012, PowerSquare has been the fastest-growing start-up in the wireless power domain. The company is known for their contribution of the first mobile USB fast charger and the first smartphone embedded with wireless power which are claimed to be the biggest milestones of the wireless industry. As a member of Wireless Power Consortium, an international cooperation of companies working together to make Qi the worldwide standard for wireless charging, the company aims to develop quality-driven APF-based products that helps WPC to augment the industry. The new APF system is built up on the same mission. With the new product, the company is also geared up to release the first-of-its-kind PowerSquare branded APF-based consumer product named Qi Wireless Charging Pad.

With a potential to refuel multiple Qi-compatible devices simultaneously, the APF system does not only support the newer mobile devices, but also helps the older models to get benefitted with backward compatibility. Backed up with the patent-pending magnetics, the novel framework leverages a coat-effective environment that helps PowerSquare to partner with wireless original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs). It also assists them in crafting out more innovative products and applications and brings them into the market at a reasonable price point.

“The PowerSquare team is thrilled to launch our Adaptive Position-Free System. The wireless power ecosystem now has a cost effective way to collaborate and deliver greater innovation around existing standards to consumers,” says Pavan Pudipeddi, CEO, Powersquare. “Our goal is to partner with developers and create a range of marketable, consumer friendly devices. With combined experience of more than 50 years, the PowerSquare team has been part of the industry’s evolution. We look forward to playing an integral role in its growth moving forward”.

“PowerSquare’s implementation of multi-device and free-positioning technology is the most user-friendly transmitter I’ve seen to date, regardless of standard. They are working to successfully bring out products that are both cost-effective and bridge the gap between changing industry standards. I have high expectations for PowerSquare and the innovation they will deliver to the wireless power sector in years to come,” comments John Perzow, Vice President, Market Development, WPC.
