PM Modi At IMC 2020 said All Villages To Have High-Speed Internet In Three Years

The Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on Tuesday said that every Indian village will get high-speed fibre optic data connectivity within three years, repeating his promise made during the address to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on India’s 74th Independence Day.

During his speech at the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2020 inaugural event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "It is important to think and plan how we can improve lives with the upcoming technology revolution. Better healthcare, Better education, Better information and opportunities for our farmers, Better market access for small businesses are some of the goals we can work towards."

Relating to Digital workers role during the coronavirus, PM Modi said, "It is due to your innovation and efforts that the world was functional despite the pandemic. It is due to your efforts that a son connected with his mother in a different city, a student learnt from his teacher without being in the classroom, a patient consulted his doctor from his home, trader connected with a consumer/ from different geography."

The Prime Minister praised the Covid-19 warriors who tackled the corona pandemic bravely.

Highlights of his Speech

  1. Some entrepreneurs tell me that it is the concept that is important and investors suggest for capital which is important for scaling a product. Also, conviction is what often matters the most.
  2. Mobile technology will deliver ability for enabling smooth, contactless interface on toll booths.
  3. The youth is working on many products including globalization of the products. A whooping number of young techies are telling that code makes a product special.
  4. The new OSP guidelines will be helping the Indian IT service industry in achieving the new heights. It will further boost the growth of this sector even when pandemic is over.The process will help in democratizing the IT service industry, and launch it to the farthest corners of the country.
  5. We have achieved much success in mobile manufacturing, and India is going strong to become one of the preferred destinations for mobile manufacturing.
  6. We should start working together for ensuring a timely roll-out of 5G technology to leapfrog into the future and empower millions of Indians.
  7. Technological upgradation has allowed us to inculcate a culture of replacement of handsets, and gadgets frequently. He advised the industry to form a task force for thinking a better way for handling electronic waste and create circular economy.
  8. He urged to work together for a successful Make in India, a global hub for telecom equipment, design, and development, and manufacturing.
  9. PM also said that a lot of young techies are telling that it is the Code which makes a product special. Some entrepreneurs also suggest the concepts are a matter of big concern. On the other hand, the investors claim that the Capital is as much important for scaling a product.
  10.  Conviction the youngster have on their product also matters heavily. And sometimes conviction is all that divides a profitable exit, and a unicorn making.
  11.  It is because of innovation and efforts that the world is functional despite the pandemic. Because of this a son could connect to his mother from a different city, or a student could learn from his/her teacher without staying in a classroom.
  12.  Technology led patient contacting doctor from home, and traders connect with a consumer from different geography. 
  13.  Planning for the upcoming technology revolution is important.
  14.  Improved healthcare, education, information, and opportunities for the farmers, and market access to small businesses are some of the goals we should work for.
