FREMONT, CA: With an aim to enhance the information sharing capabilities among the retailers for greater security, R-CISC launches a new intelligence sharing portal managed by the FS-ISAC.

R-CISC, an acronym for Retail Cyber Intelligence Sharing Center, is a non-profit organization set up in March 2014 for building a center where information can be shared and analyzed to secure the retail industry from cyber bullying. The group initially had more than 30 retail companies and the numbers have further grown over the time.

The R-CISC developed the Retail Information Sharing & Analysis Center (ISAC) forum through which retailers could share threat information and leading practices with each other to better protect their networks and consumer data, reports PR Newswire.

As a positive step ahead, the new Intelligence Sharing Portal empowers retailers to share cybersecurity intelligence information within the community as well as receive security intelligence from key partners, government agencies, and law enforcement. R-CISC, besides this initiative, has also been involved in bringing robust education and research offerings to keep retailers out of harm’s way.

The strength of the group is taken to the next level through support from the Financial Service Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) which is an industry forum for collaboration to counter the cybersecurity challenges for the financial services sector.

"FS-ISAC is proud to support R-CISC as it delivers on its core mission of information sharing and enabling retail organizations around the world improve their cyber security posture and resilience," says Bill Nelson, FS-ISAC President & CEO.  "FS-ISAC continually looks to innovate how information is shared, analyzed and disseminated. We believe there is tremendous potential both for intra-sector and cross-sector sharing and we look forward to sharing our expertise to help enable these new ways of collaborating."
