Microsoft Opens Third Development Centre In NCR Ahead Of CEO's Country Visit

Microsoft Opens Third Development Centre In NCR Ahead Of CEO’s Country VisitIn a move to expand its presence in India, Microsoft opens a new development centre in NCR (Noida), its third such facility following the centres in Hyderabad and Bangalore. The latest development took place ahead of the country visit of company’s CEO Satya Nadella who was recently in news for his concerns over Citizenship Amendment Act. The newly opened centre serves as a premier facility for driving innovation by tapping India’s engineering talent to create cutting-edge technology solutions with global impact.              

Expected to Create Job Opportunities for Engineers

The new centre will house company’s engineering teams across various technology domains, including Artificial Intelligence & Research Group, Cloud & Enterprise Group, and Experience & Devices Group, along with Core Services Engineering and Operations. The team of Microsoft’s live streaming video gaming platform- Mixer will also be housed at NCR development centre, making it the first centre hosting Microsoft’s gaming team outside its headquarters in the USA. “The launch of the new IDC center in NCR is a step towards realizing IDC’s vision to be a world class development center and source of innovation for the next billion users. This creates opportunities for engineers to do meaningful work that will have impact across the world. We are excited to tap into the engineering talent available in this part of the country to create a truly pioneering organization that will build innovative solutions for global impact,” said, Rajiv Kumar, Managing Director, Microsoft India (R&D) Pvt. Ltd. The technology giant is also planning to expand it into a full-fledged development center, as other centres in Hyderabad and Bangalore, creating thousands of job opportunities for engineers across the country.

This represents a critical expansion of our ability to attract world-class technology talent. Our deep commitment to the region will help us further Microsoft’s mission to empower every individual and every organization on the planet to achieve more,” said Kurt DelBene, Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy, Core Services Engineering and Operations, and the Chairman of the IDC Advisory Board. The centre considering its location is expected to play a prominent role in driving the company’s expansion and growth story in the country.  

Microsoft’s India Development Centre that was set-up in Hyderabad in 1988 is one of its largest R&D centres outside the US headquarters driving the company’s strategy of globally shared development to build world-class products and services.
