Climbing up 4 positions and getting placed in the 48th rank by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in the Global Innovation Index 2020 rankings, India, even during the COVID-19 pandemic creates history. This is a piece of tremendous news for the country, which showcases the excellent R&D Ecosystem. Previously, India was positioned at the 52nd spot in 2019 and earlier than that, it was 81st position for the country in 2015. This is regarded as an outstanding accomplishment to get a place in a league of highly innovative developed nations in the world. WIPO also recognized India as one of the leading innovation achievers of 2019 in the region of central and southern Asia because of its uniform improvement in the innovation ranking for the last 5 years.
