Dawn of 5G-enabled solution, an Initiative by Tech Mahindra and Cisco

CIOReviewIndia TeamIndian IT giant Tech Mahindra in collaboration with global networking leader Cisco has recently launched a 5G-enabled future-ready solution to build wireless and secure ‘factories of the future’. The solution that is meant to enable manufacturing firms realise the dreams of Industry 4.0, will provide network infrastructure assessment and consultancy services for factory wireless network, factory to enterprise Software Defined Network, cyber security and IT-OT (information technology-operation technology) integration areas.  “Factory equipment holds a great deal of meaningful data which is key to any successful Industry 4.0 project. Tech Mahindra’s solution in partnership with Cisco will enable us to leverage this data and empower manufacturers to build factories of the future,” said Nilesh Auti, global head- manufacturing industry unit, Tech Mahindra.  He highlighted their focused on leveraging 5G technologies to address the customer’s evolving and dynamic needs.  Tech Mahindra and Cisco had opened a Centre of Excellence in Bangalore some time back that focuses on Manufacturing 4.0, as the convergence of IT and OT accelerates.                

Uniting IT and operations for Digital Manufacturing Initiatives

Tech Mahindra has also launched ‘IoT Sandbox’, a highly efficient persona based IoT solution finder for industries such as Industrial manufacturing, process manufacturing, Automotive, Aero, Oil & Gas, Retail and Healthcare among others. "Tech Mahindra and Cisco have a 360-degree engagement for close to two decades. Industry 4.0 is a top focus area for us, and we are committed to delivering trusted business solutions to the manufacturing industry. The convergence of IT and OT is transforming the manufacturing Industry,” said B. Raghavendran, Managing Director, Cisco India and SAARC.  He also said that their partnership with Tech Mahindra was uniquely positioned to help unite IT and operations for digital manufacturing initiatives while enhancing efficiency and increasing profitability for customers. Leveraging its long-term and 360 degree relationship with Cisco, Tech Mahindra had in past deployed Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA) at its Hyderabad campus, making it one of the largest software-defined campus networks in India with over 14,000 live users.
