We all are familiar with the mobile game Pokémon GO, in which we catch Pokémon in the real world through our smart phones. The game was a great success for Nintendo, the day after the game was launched the company had earned millions. After Nintendo, pioneer companies like Apple and Google are providing platforms for making augmented reality game apps. At present, AR apps are not location based game, like Pokémon GO. Now you can play AR street fighter game on your lawn also.  Augmented Reality was created to bring the digital world into the real world people’s perception. The first AR system was invented in the 1990s, which provides the mixed reality experiences for users.

After a huge success of Pokémon GO, Apple also updated the feature of augmented reality to its latest iOS version; which increased the purchasing of the iPhone and hence increased the revenue of the company. With the increasing popularity of augmented reality in the present world, many big companies are ready to invest in AR. The reason behind its popularity is that it provides people to interact with the virtual world through a device in realistic way, and that is what amazes people.

With the enhancement in technology, AR has many applications in entertainment and gaming industry. For Example, the two major video gaming console has made the new generation console that is Kinect(Xbox) and PlayStation eye( PlayStation 3 and 4 ) with the augmented reality compatibility, which give users spectacular experience while playing.

The scope of the augmented reality is big, as it has vast application in different industries. As it can be used in the education of the medical students; with AR they can do the actual surgery of a virtual body; this will improve their skills smoothly. In Military, AR can be used to find the location of the enemy, friend, and radar.

Augmented reality (AR) is another way of seeing a world with a headgear on and there are more to come in our changing lives. “Simply put, we believe augmented reality is going to change the way we use technology forever,” said Tim Cook, CEO, Apple.
