Google Launches People Card in India: Here Is What It Means For Users

Google Launches People’s Cards in India: Here’s What It Means For UsersThe search engine leader, Google, unwraps ‘People Card’ technology in India. Starting from 11 August 2020, Google offers out the technology to the Indian users that search on mobile phones in English.

The technology will fortify users’ online presence, mainly the users that have just started to use the platform and do not have a website at the moment.

People Card – known as Virtual Visiting Card, will give the internet users to display their contact details like social profiles, and related information that users want to bring into public notice.

The technology is aimed to help millions of influencers, entrepreneurs, job seekers, self-employed individuals, freelancers, and everyone looking for making online identity in global platforms. Google said in the blog post. It also stated that – “We hope this new Search feature will help the world find them.”

The Virtual Visiting Card, when searched, will be displayed as part of the search results. When searching for someone online, searchers will have the delicacy to read about the person’s name, profession, and location. Searchers can tap to see their card. And when there are multiple cards having the same name, searchers will see multiple modules, and the subsequent information will be helping users to identify their searched ones.

Creating A People Card - Virtual Visiting Card

For creating a people card – Virtual Visiting Card, users will need a Google Account. After signing in, users can Google search for – ‘Add Me to Search’. The result will give the link, where users can enter information based on their wishes. The information includes – Image from Google Account, A Brief Description of the User, Links to the User’s Website, Social Profiles, and depending on the user – Phone Number and Email Address.

It is important to know that Google allows only one card per user and it is mandatory to authenticate the account with a valid phone number. Users get the benefit to delete the cards whenever they want.
