5G, Vo5G Deal From Tele2 To Be Acquired By Nokia

On Monday, Finnish telecoms gear to join hands with European telecoms operator Tele2 for deploying Standalone (SA) 5G core and Voice over 5G (Vo5G) to enhance Tele2’s cloud infrastructure and for improvement of data and voice connectivity for Tele2’s subscribers in Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

Nokia, being a core cloud transformation part of Tele2, will be deploying its Cloud Packet Core products for supporting both 4G and 5G core network functions.

Further deployment from Nokia includes new Subscriber Data Management software for streamlining Tele2’s network operations. Nokia will further deliver Vo5G services for supporting connectivity and reduction of the expenses for both 5G and 4G.

The partnership will also witness Nokia deploying cloud and network management products form its CloudBand, Network Services Platform (NSP), NetAct product portfolios as well, and the solutions by Nokia will be deployed in allover Nokia Container Services.

For further improvement of the security of this digitalized network infrastructure for Tele2, Nokia’s NetGuard Security products will be deployed.

Raghav Sahgal, President of Nokia Cloud and Network Services, said, “With our relationship stemming back to the mobile core days of the 1990s, we look forward to collaborating with Tele2 to support new 21st century digital services and unlock even more reliable network experiences.” The deployment is expected to start in 2021.
