It is overwhelming to gauge the evolving mobile App development in the industry. App-based solutions are the new eye-popper for startups, and Indian entrepreneurs are matching pace with their global counterparts when it comes to innovation and investments in the space. Today, a smartphone is an amenity for just about everybody, and the applications loaded onto the phone are how startups, both young and old, are trying to make our lives easier and the world we live in, better. India's mobile app market grew sharply last year, outpacing the US, and ranked number one in terms of Google Play downloads, throwing the country's mobile ecosystem vibrancy in the open for the world to see. That whopping 71 percent growth was significantly higher than the overall 15 percent growth in app downloads around the world. Following the major demonetization steps taken by Indian government, the market is drogue to move towards a cashless society. 90 percent of Indian population depending on cash transactions has created a provision for this cashless revolution. This has only increased the need for a secure UPI payment, wallet and mobile payment solutions. The Android and search giant, Google, has launched Tez, a free mobile wallet in India that will let users link up their phones to their bank accounts to pay for goods securely in physical stores and online, and for person-to-person money transfers with a new twist: Audio QR. Audio QR uses ultrasonic sounds to let you exchange money, bypassing any need for NFC. Now isn't that something? Major innovation goals set.
