Venba Tech: Turning Buildings Smarter along with Customer Centric Ethos

By

Every building/infrastructure is unique and energy consumption within all such structures varies and fluctuates, which, considering the present rate of depletion of the energy reserves, leads to the immediate need of a unique energy management system. To be as lean as possible and maximize efficiency, an intelligent Building Automation System (BAS) is what is required. Also, a productive BAS visualization enables faster energy analysis, monitoring, and the ability to “tell the story” of the building performance to management, engineering, building operators and executives alike to make better decisions to troubleshoot potential problems and cut costs. The umbrella term for all such units, Integrated Building Management System (IBMS) is a computer-based control system installed in buildings, controlling and monitoring the building’s mechanical and electrical equipment, takes care of the complete energy consumption of the building in a user friendly and interactive manner. With the rise of “Digital India” notion, plethora of companies are either investing or planning to invest on turning their skyscraper-like offices to a fully automated building. What follows next is to explore for an established and familiar face in automation solutions.

Headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Venba Tech is filling this gap between requirement and implementation, through unparallel design, engineering and project management ingenuity in the field of extra low voltage (ELV) and IBMS systems. “Our very first project in 2009, Express Avenue Mall, Chennai, was a conduit for us to win several other projects such as World Trade Centre Bangalore, Orion Mall, Brigade Gateway, Total Environment’s Wind Mills of your Mind and others.” Says Bhanumathy Venkat, Founder & MD, Venba Tech. The accomplishments and undertakings mentioned above, itself talk about how Venba Tech’s automation solutions in commercial and home segments maintain simplicity, convenience and energy efficiency while delivering top –notch and state-of-the-art automated infrastructure.

Gone are the days when using camera implemented security systems were believed to be the ultimate security procedure. Now even an amateur burglar can outwit the system. Staying a step ahead, Venba Tech works on pro-active alerts and designs solutions based on gadgets that detect incidents even before it happens and acts to avoid incidents from occurring. The sensors with built-in capability to detect tampers are strategically placed depending on the area of the coverage to cater two level security coverage: report immediately on incident to preprogrammed telephone numbers and simultaneously alert the neighborhood through local sirens and switch on lights ( if at night) thereby getting rid of the intruder.

Separating from the Contemporaries
The key factor singularizing Venba Tech is that the designs are based on converged network that offer one backbone for multiple services running in building thereby saving considerably on multiple runs of cables for several services. With Ethernet being the media of communication between various systems in the Building Automation, Venba Tech creates an infrastructure on Internet Protocol (IP) and consequently various subsystems such as Automation controllers, CCTV cameras, Security devices, Access control systems, Public Address systems, and intercommunication systems communicate through one infrastructure to the Central Control Room where these systems are monitored on one common platform that makes the complete Integrated Building Management System (IBMS).

Enhancing Automated Home experience
Since the last couple of years, mass awareness and end user demand for automated homes has witnessed introduction of newer and innovative solutions and products. Integrated and comprehensive solutions have picked up more substantially. Comprehending to all such demands, Venba Tech’s few design implementations are:
• On demand usage- Lights: Design is executed with occupancy and movement sensors that recognize the occupancy conditions and the light levels.
• On demand usage - Air conditioning (ACs): Integration of ACs be it VRV or split units into the automation solution is done to enable the house owners to activate the AC before getting back to the houses or rooms thereby preventing owners from sharply ramping down the AC temperature on arrival bringing ACs to work in an inefficient energy curve and produce increased bills.
• Energy Monitoring: The usage and pattern of energy consumption of electrical appliances within the house are enabled to be monitored in a graphical manner giving the end user meaningful data to tune their electric usage, hence avoiding wastage of electricity.

Amidst a marquee league of ace clientele’, Venba Tech believes to maintain a culture of winning and keeping customers close. “We cultivate this by keeping our employees motivated, trained, who in turn do their best to satisfy the customers. We work on a flat structure and open office concept.” explains Bhanumathy. Furthermore, following a strategy to stick to open protocols and design solutions that are flexible and enable interoperability to allow future expansion, upgrade and adoption of newer technologies, Venba Tech’s solution designs are based on three parameters that are critical to quality - 1) simple and secure to use 2) easy to service & maintain and 3) failure mode reduction and redundancy.
