Quick Report Software: Fulfilling the Need for Decision Support System

By

Increasing complexity, rapid change and the escalating risks are today compelling organizations to evaluate computerized decision support projects, especially decision support systems (DSS). Decision support systems are gaining an increased popularity in various domains, including business, engineering, military, and medicine. They are especially valuable in situations in which the amount of available information is prohibitive for the intuition of an unaided human decision maker and in which precision and optimality are of importance. Realizing this value of DSS, Pune based Quick Report Software Pvt. Ltd. provides a reporting tool for management and decision analysis, which is accessible to all work force of an organization.
“Reports are the most significant part of DSS for every enterprise. Visible analytical figures impact the correctness of any decision and the classic way for generating report is in Excel,” says Shivaprasad Kamat, Director -Sales and Marketing at Quick Report Software. Quick Report Software provides a business intelligence tool called MyReport which is native to Microsoft Excel. It works as an add-on to Microsoft Excel and hence is implemented without any resistance from the business team. The business users feel minimum change management because of its close connection with Excel.
MyReport consists of multiple modules. The MyReport Data module connects to different Databases and Flat files and fetches data from all sources into one single database (Data warehouse).MyReport Builder then fetches the data from this data warehouse and prepares Excel Dashboards. Similarly MyReport Page prepares Web Dashboards and MyReport Messenger allows users to give path of the excel workbook in which the Reports/Dashboard to be broadcast are saved. Finally, the user decides a frequency for broadcast and MyReport Messenger comes into play to broadcast the Report/Dashboards as per Messenger settings.
After installing the MyReport Setup, an organization gets MyReport Builder as an add-on in the Excel (or OpenOffice). A user can call the Builder from the add-on section by clicking its icon and thus can drag and drop fields easily into the report-making interface of MyReport Builder. “We provide Excel Based BI Tool, integrated in Excel itself. We have designed this tool for those who want to generate their own report. And that’s the reason our tag line is “BI for Everyone” and not only for top level management.” adds Jean-Christophe (John) SOLIVERES, Managing Director and Co-founder Quick Report Software.
Quick Report’s BI tool provides quick ROI owing to its several distinguished benefits. Firstly, the tool is ready for use as soon as gets installed. Secondly, it requires virtually no training time for end users and enables them to create and analyze their reports in the way they choose to. In addition, the company provides local support in local language and off-the-shelf integration adapters for multiple ERPs and Business Applications.
“As India is still a less explored market for BI, we are looking to double the number of our satisfied users with a focus on Banking, Retail, Manufacturing and FMCG industries,” envisages Shivaprasad Kamat.
