Gramener: Data Visualization for Easy Consumption of Analytics

By

Most of the useful information that can help in decision making resides in highly concentrated and unexplored datasets that companies usually fail to explore. It is because human brains are not adept to understand and interpret numbers and complex data, but are better suited to process images and pictures. By providing clear insights through pictorial representation, Hyderabad headquartered Gramener assists enterprises in solving business problems by translating data into meaningful and concise dashboards. “We are data consumption enablers, we help customers consume useful data and insights” explains J Ramachandran, CEO of Gramener. An IIT alumnus with over two decades of professional experience, Ramachandran has led the businesses at multinational IT corporations. He and other top executives of Gramener worked in the US for Fortune 500 companies before establishing the firm four years back.

Visualizing data

Gramener’s offerings can be compared with a well-known adage: ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’. Organizations sometimes get lost in the world of complex numbers and to address this, data visualization plays a significant role in focusing on the areas that really matter. “We use analytics, statistics and visualization to enable enterprises to consume data coherently,” adds Ramachandran. Based on cognitive research, Gramener helps enterprises obtain insights quickly from concise dashboards, which ultimately guides them towards actionable decisions. “We complement existing tools and platforms to simplify the process of getting insights from the historical data that the organizations would have mined over a period of time,” he further adds.

Gramener offers a series of visualized templates for clients to transform data into easily consumable format. “Visualizations are very intrinsic to the industry, for example, inventory is visualized on store layout which every store manager will be able to relate to,” says Ramachandran. He adds that Gramener offers ready-to-use templates, wherein no customization is required. Gramener’s solution is non-intrusive – that is, Gramener does not expect customers to change their business processes, infrastructure or employee skills to adopt Gramener’s solution.” The common mental models that get created from these visualizations irrespective of the heterogeneity of teams help business to act rapidly.

Gramener’s customers are in India, Europe, Singapore and Middle East and in verticals such as telecom, pharmaceuticals, farming and FMCG etc. Gramener is expanding to US markets and is currently developing algorithms that could eliminate the need of human involvement in data analytics. “Just because big data analytics is there, it does not ensure business results; customers need to utilize it to consume it as a team for realizing the benefits,” concludes the CEO.
