Gearing up for the Future!

By

The government has granted Rs.1000 crore for Travel & Hospitality sector in the fiscal year budget of 2014-15 that tabled this month. But we are yet to see if this will be ample to pace up the sector that currently witnesses only 0.5 percent of the global tourism footfalls. Though being a global destination rich in cultural heritage, diversity and history, Indian Travel & Hospital industry does not seem to be anywhere nearing its dawn. However, we hope that that recent announcement of e-visa and visa on arrival at nine airports will provide the much needed push to the industry and help the sector blossom.

The announcement included grant of Rs.500 crore for developing five tourist circuits around specific themes, Rs.100 crore for National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive, Rs.200 crore for National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana, and several others. These funds will help the much lagging tourism infrastructure to evolve whilst considerably enhancing the industry and take the share to 6.8 percent of the GDP.

While the time ahead looks stunning for the industry and acts like fertilizers for the Travel & Hospitality services providers, this will garner an immense need of software and solutions for them that can take up the hidden corners and equip them with latest cutting-edge technologies to provide the best and the fastest solutions to their customers. With the cut throat competition the industry is going to witness, it is immensely essential for companies to be the front-runners to succeed. Hence, understanding the need of the industry, we at siliconindia thought to provide a list of '20 Most Promising Travel & Hospitality Software Companies' that not just provide cutting-edge solutions and services, but work like partners with their clients and help them gear up for the future.
