DDN Storage: Accelerating the Performance of Data Intensive Applications

By

India has incredible growing potential in terms of generation as well as consumption of data from various operations. It is an overarching goal for enterprises to choose their data storage facilitator to haul their solutions from performance and storage failures. The major reason to fret is the time taken to upload and download data. In the same vein, The National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBGM) had to deal with such ubiquitous storage performance issues, thus hindering the concurrent operations and impinging the research results. Incorporated in 1998, DDN Storage revamped the storage and application process and helped in reducing data ingestion time. “To emerge ahead in the data storage landscape, DDN strives to improvise customers’ application as we take care of storage issues. We find our roots in high performance market as we own over 80% market share of high performance storage solution in India.”, says Atul Vidwansa, Country Manager, DDN.
DDN has a pragmatic approach towards customers’ scalability issues. By moving its focus to commercial operations from super computer’s high performance computing, DDN is well equipped to resolve problems of similar character from every facet, from day one of its operation. Pertaining to burst buffer technology, DDN unleashes a new I/O provisioning paradigm- IME (infinite memory engine) which easily eliminates I/O contentions of clustered compute environment, irrespective of its size. DDN is at ease with its building blocks of appliances- EXAScaler, GRIDScaler and WOS, holding large capacity to meet the requirements of the software demanded by clients thus aiding them to scale linearly and add up on performance. While a section of DDN’s products are made for high performance, another range of products such as WOS, proffers massive scalability to unstructured data. It hits all the key 3 points- ingest, organize and data distribution based on policies, of massive unstructured data.
DDN’s Storage Fusion Architecture has been developed after extensive years of research by underpinning customer centric requirements. Another captivating feature of DDN is its flexibility in implementing storage system. When a customer orders for a system, he is being offered with many options such as factory builds and system builds on site. Many a times, clients have been granted access to factory floor, to witness the testing process. As most of the systems are connected to complex computing, DDN is very keen about configuration. Thus, deployment is finalized in a matter of time.
The success mantra for DDN lies within its undeterred focus on few but important areas in data storage industry. DDN is keen to take on the challenges and formulate tailored solution to obliterate the qualms completely. In the coming years, the company intends to integrate its solutions relevant to scalability, design and simulation, thus meeting the matches of multiple and independent software vendors.
