Calsoft Labs: Taking Healthcare to New Avenues

When one of Calsoft Labs, an ALTEN group company – a provider of healthcare technology solutions, clients came to them with a unique Laboratory Information Management System requirement of enabling smaller labs to use chip files and to be able to publish the data on their desktops, they built a product called MicroDB which enabled their systems to acquire, analyze and manage complex genetic information from Gene chips and publish it on their databases.

The company which has been serving this sector since 1992 is now working on disruptive technologies like cloud and mobility. Their R&D department is currently developing technologies which will ease the functioning of this market. Today, Calsoft Labs is working on cloud based technologies that will aid - hospital management systems, telemedicine systems, low cost diagnostic systems, cloud based patient health record portals for storage and sharing, and cloud based laboratory information management system for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

What puts Calsoft Labs ahead of its competition is its focus on product engineering and its elite workforce. They possess the agility of a midsized company and enough flexibility to work with large corporations and small startups at the same time. This gives Calsoft Labs the edge to work with clients of different sizes and needs.

Though the healthcare industry is growing at a steady pace, a major portion of its investment goes towards physical infrastructure, diagnostic equipment, and operational expenses. At this point in time, the money spent on software solutions related to healthcare is very low.
