Ambit : Leveraging its SWIFT BI framework to zero-in on the right BI solution

By

Ambit Software offers a host of Cloud-based BI solutions that do not require IT resources at the client’s end or a subscription model for on-premise licenses. With a presence across India, Middle East and USA and over a decade of experience in building BI solutions for organizations like The World Bank, Reliance Capital, Saint Gobain, Thermax, Alfa Laval, Indiabulls, SEMCO, etc., Ambit has created a repository of industry-specific reports, dashboards and what-if analyses that can be deployed effortlessly. Moreover, the company has strong domain and industry expertise that helps in crunching the deployment time-frame. “Ambit‘s BI solutions efficaciously trim the time spent in generating accurate reports thereby easing the burden of clients in retrieving precise reports and dashboards from the data that flows into their multiple systems,” says Jenit Ramaiya, CEO, Ambit Software.

There are three key issues that prevent organisations from benefiting from BI systems: lack of pervasiveness of BI systems, managing a variety of non-related systems that do not work well together and using traditional methods that have not evolved to meet organisational needs.

Ambit’s SWIFT (Streamlined Web-enabled Intelligence Today) BI framework addresses the above pain points quite effectively. It ranks solutions based on their features, ease-of-use, client organization’s IT maturity and readiness and ROI. This exercise is done within a tight time-frame and a set of suitable BI solutions would be shortlisted. Ambit then guides the clients to decide on the right solution.

The following case study stands testimony to Ambit’s efficacious solutions: a manufacturer using a legacy ERP had deployed Web 2.0 based CRM and HRMS systems and now required a single BI solution to run across these systems. As part of the SWIFT framework, Ambit ran profilers to figure out in which tables the data was stored for a particular transaction in the client’s legacy ERP. “We are talking of hundreds of transaction types here, with multiple tables being affected every time. They had standard reports that were running only on the ERP but their own resources and those in the market had very limited knowledge of the innards of their legacy system. Of course, without analyzing this information, you wouldn’t know where to extract data from to run any business intelligence on it.” says Jenit. Once the data sources were clear, the final BI solution was deployed rapidly within a period of 4 months. “Projects like these can go on for months, leaving both the client and vendor frustrated. Our framework helped identify and mitigate the risk areas in the project right at the start and helped the client get a rapid ROI from the solution”, adds Jenit.

Along with industry-specific BI solutions, Ambit also offers horizontal solutions in the domains of finance, sales, purchase, digital marketing, support, service and human resources. Some of these solutions make use of Big Data especially in digital marketing, customer support and human resources. For example, Ambit has designed applications that enable clients to capture the stress-level of the employees on a regular basis and provide suggestions to alleviate stress. Leveraging their analytics engine and scalable design, Ambit will be bringing this technology to wearable devices in the very near future.
