Extencore Solutions: Enhancing Product Engineering Efficiency

By

With increased maturity in predicting physics, simulation is now widely accepted as a way of testing the product before a physical prototype is made. The availability of a wide spectrum of simulation application software has accelerated virtual testing, thereby increasing the reliability of the products in a cost-effective manner. Organizations, thus, strive to successfully use simulation methodologies to improve the performance of new as well as existing products. Understanding this need, Extencore Solutions has evolved as a global engineering services company, providing CAD, CAE, CFD and other allied engineering solutions. Extencore Solutions was initially known as FE Core Solutions which was started in Pune, 2006. A significant number of prestigious projects and an IT investor helped the company establish itself as Extencore Solutions in 2008.

Committed to enhancing the clients' product engineering efficiency, the company works as a partner for leading international organizations. Extencore leverages technology and domain knowledge in industries including Automotive, Aerospace, EPC/Manufacturing, Oil and gas, Surgical equipment, Heavy electrical among others.

Computer-aided designs (CAD) have greatly influenced the chain of processes between the initial design and the final realization of a product. Through CAD, businesses can actually build virtual prototypes and test them for all types of conditions. Among an array of services, Extencore focuses more on the design services. In the CAD segment, the company creates concepts of machines to replace manual processes, understand functional requirement, divide and document current manual process into steps, document average time required for each step in the process and so on.

Building a Multidimensional Team
Initially started as a CAD & CAE company, Extencore now takes up the whole product design level itself or any product optimization level. “We primarily deal with designing and prototyping stage of any component. There are component manufacturers who require new designs or modifications. Every company might not have a design team whereas those with a design team might not have the right resources. We have a variety of resources who are experienced in various domains,” says Farzin B Irani, Director.

The company has trained all its resources in several domains so as to utilize them throughput the product life cycle. “The advantage of having resources trained across multiple domains and not separated like a CAD team, CAE team, and CFD team is that their hunger for variety in work is satisfied and they don’t come to work just because they have to, they work with an attitude to engineer something better,” explains Farzin.

With customers like ThyssenKrupp, Siemens, Stanley, Optech, Hydac, Extencore has its client base spread across Maharashtra and Gujarat. “We are also planning to get into the segment of product manufacturing as we have gathered ample experience in the field of product,” concludes Farzin.
